For the past couple of decades, many cities in the northeast have seen stable or even negative growth while cities in the south and west have been growing rapidly, attracting a wide variety of retired people, families and singles starting their careers. Not in any particular order, here are four of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. 

1. Bend, Oregon

Bend is a small city located along the Deschutes River in central Oregon, with easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, camping and skiing. In addition to these opportunities, Bend is an attractive destination for the younger crowd due to its many craft breweries and exciting coffee shops and restaurants. 

2. Frisco, Texas

Located just north of Dallas, Frisco is seeing immense population and job growth. Easy access to a major city and two airports makes this a suitable destination for families and young professionals alike. The past decade has seen a large amount of land clearing Decaturville TN in this suburb to make way for neighborhoods, corporate parks and shopping centers. 

3. Henderson, Nevada

Located just southeast of the more well-known city of Las Vegas, Henderson has been growing quickly thanks to its affordable housing and relatively low cost of living. People tend to move here from the more expensive states of Hawaii and neighboring California. Henderson is a short drive from Lake Mead and the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, providing residents with numerous opportunities for outdoor experiences. 

4. Fort Myers, Florida

Featuring easy access to beautiful beaches and a warm climate year-round, this Gulf Coast city does well in terms of jobs and income growth. State parks and wildlife preserves surround Fort Myers if you want to get away and see nature.
