3 Areas to Think About When Doing a Kitchen Remodel

You walk into your kitchen and decide you are ready for a change. You aren’t going to buy a new car or cut your hair, you are ready to update your kitchen! Before you start your remodel here are three areas to think about.

1. Cabinets

Cabinets are one of the first things you notice in a kitchen. You can set the tone for the look of your kitchen depending on which style of cabinets you choose. Ripping them out and putting in brand new can be very expensive and take a lot of work. Instead of starting from scratch, try cabinet refinishing St. Louis. This allows you to use your existing layout and style but update your cabinets to a finish or color that you love.

2. Appliances

You probably use your microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher daily. You do not want to skimp and go cheap in this area or else you will regret it when you find yourself washing dishes by hand. Decide what features you want in your appliances and then do your research. Look for items with good reviews and durability. Appliances can be expensive, so you don’t want to have to replace them very often.

3. Flooring

Your kitchen flooring isn’t just about the looks. While you want it to be beautiful, you also want to make sure it can withstand day-to-day living. A lot happens in a kitchen. Things are dropped, water is split and it’s one of the highest traffic areas in your house. Find a floor that is strong enough to withstand it all without sacrificing the look.

When you are ready for a kitchen remodel don’t rush through your decisions when it comes to cabinets, appliances and flooring. Those areas can have the biggest impact on the style and function of your kitchen so you want it to be the right choice.
